HANNAH MIAMI JICKLING | ALL THE PLACES I’VE SHAGGED SNEKES MOW
SATURDAY 30 JUNE 2007 – SATURDAY 11 AUGUST 2007

OPENING RECEPTION | FRIDAY 29 JUNE 2007, 8:00PM – 11:00PM

For her upcoming exhibition at YYZ, Hannah Miami Jickling reconfigures and recirculates two previous public interventions within a gallery space. In the first, Jickling presents photographs and artifacts of a work in which she rearranged chewed bubble gum into heart-shapes on the streets and sidewalks of Glasgow. In the second, she presents a continuation and assessment of her Temporary Autonomous Paradise Zone project.

HANNAH MIAMI JICKLING
spends most of her time between Dawson City and Toronto. In recent years, she has been developing her practice as a snow shoveller, hair-dresser, tropical stylist and exotic vacationer. She works individually and collaboratively, favoring free and found materials. Recent work has been developed through the support of residencies at the Falkland St. Club Florida Headquarters (Halifax), the Klondike Institute of Art and Culture (Dawson City), Dare-Dare (Montreal), The Or Gallery (Vancouver) and This Neck of the Woods (Rotterdam).
